Waukesha Symphony League preps for next year

Sept. 28, 2009 | 0 comments

The Waukesha Symphony League recently held a harvest social at the hilltop home of Gretchen and Andy Hall in Dousman. The purpose of the gathering was to elect officers and to plan social and fundraising events for the upcoming year. See photos from this event.

New officers include Judith Laimon-Smith of Waukesha, president; Janet Bode of Hartland, secretary; and Martha Kelpin of Waukesha, treasurer. Committee chairs are Germaine Hillmer of Delafield, Gretchen Hall of Dousman and Evie Reid of Waukesha.

Upcoming events planned by the league include a Christmas tea at Hawks Inn in Delafield on Dec. 12 and a Sweetheart Tea and Dance on Valentine's Day with mothers and sons, and fathers and daughters.

The primary fundraiser of the year, the Symphony Ball, is scheduled for March 27, 2010, at St. John's Northwestern Military Academy in Delafield.

Another popular fundraiser, a garden stroll featuring a one-day garden event and a preview party the previous evening, is scheduled for June 19, 20l0.

The mission of the Waukesha Symphony League is to "raise funds for the Waukesha Symphony Orchestra and, in conjunction with the WSO, foster lifelong appreciation of classical music through educational programming."
