Report of injured man leads to arrests of two people
City of Brookfield police arrested two suspected drunken drivers at the same time on the same street.
According to a Brookfield police report:
Police responded to a call of an unconscious man lying facedown in a driveway in the 17400 block of Ashlea Drive about 8:15 p.m. June 22. The caller said the man was bleeding.
When officers arrived, they determined the 54-year-old Brookfield man had driven his car home and tripped on the driveway, causing the injuries. He was arrested for drunken driving, second offense, and taken to Froedtert Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Blood was drawn to determine his blood-alcohol content.
A short distance away, police stopped a vehicle driven by a 46-year-old West Allis woman. She told police she was following the man home. The woman failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for drunken driving.
Her BAC was 0.13.
E-mailed threats could land New Berlin teen in court
City of Brookfield police referred a 16-year-old New Berlin boy to Waukesha County Circuit Court for using a computer to send threats to a 16-year-old Brookfield boy.
According to a Brookfield police report:
The New Berlin teen sent five or six threatening e-mails to the Brookfield boy, saying he would have the boy's car and house shot at and that he could kill the boy. The threats were made over a fight about a girl.
The New Berlin boy was arrested June 26.
Robbers snatch purse from woman at bus stop
A 32-year-old Milwaukee woman was the victim of a strong-arm robbery last week in Brookfield, police said.
According to a city of Brookfield police report, the woman was waiting at a bus stop in the 12600 block of Capitol Drive about 7:40 p.m. Friday when two teens grabbed her purse and ran to a car near Tri City Bank, 12745 W. Capitol Drive.
An older man was driving the car, which went eastbound on Capitol Drive.
The robbers did not display any weapons, and the woman was not injured.
