Report of injured man leads to 2 drunken driving arrests

June 29, 2009 | 0 comments

City of Brookfield police arrested two suspected drunken drivers at the same time on the same street.

According to a Brookfield police report:

Police responded to a call of an unconscious man lying facedown in a driveway in the 17400 block of Ashlea Drive about 8:15 p.m. June 22. The caller said the man was bleeding.

When officers arrived, they determined the 54-year-old Brookfield man had driven his car home and tripped on the driveway, causing the injuries. He was arrested for drunken driving, second offense, and taken to Froedtert Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Blood was drawn to determine his blood-alcohol content.

A short distance away, police stopped a vehicle driven by a 46-year-old West Allis woman. She told police she was following the man home. The woman failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for drunken driving.

Her BAC was 0.13.
