Wartman's leadership should earn her votes

March 24, 2009 | 0 comments

Public Forum:

I would like to share four qualities of Meg Wartman that I have observed during my two years of service on the Elmbrook School Board.

As Board President, Meg is sensitive to all viewpoints and effectively encourages balanced discussion of issues that come before the Board.

Very importantly, she is one of three board members who currently have children in the school district. She has been and continues to be actively involved with the schools and teachers at all levels, and provides a real-life perspective of our educational system. Her traditional values are sound in steering away from experimentation on our students with unproven academic approaches.

Faced with a significant budget shortfall over the next five years, as the longest-serving member of the board, Meg brings invaluable experience. She helps maintain stability by making us aware of previous board decisions and the underlying rationale for those decisions.

Meg always keeps student learning at the forefront of our decision-making process while, at the same time, is fiscally conservative, being sensitive to the interests of the property owners whose taxes fund the school district.

I will vote for Meg and encourage others to do so as well.
