City of Brookfield

BURGLARY

1A home alarm went off in the 18200 block of Prairie Falcon Lane about 9 a.m. Feb. 18. Police reported it appeared someone had pried open the front door of the home but did not enter other parts of the home, and nothing appeared missing.

THEFT

2A woman was arrested for retail theft at Pick 'n Save, 2205 N. Calhoun Road, about 2 p.m. Feb. 17, after she was seen concealing items.

3Three women were seen leaving Boston Store, 15875 W. Bluemound Road, with their arms full of unpaid merchandise about 6 p.m. Feb. 17. When they were confronted by employees, the women dropped the merchandise and fled.

4Two women took $896 in merchandise from a store at Brookfield Square, 95 N. Moorland Road, about 5 p.m. Feb. 18.

5A car in the 3800 block of North Brookfield Road was broken into about 9 p.m. Feb. 19. The back window was smashed, but the owner was not sure if anything was taken.

6A man took four bottles of vodka from Pick 'n Save, 12735 W. Capitol Drive, about noon Feb. 20. A previous theft of the same items occurred Feb. 12.

7A phone and wallet, which contained $210, were taken from an unlocked car near Burleigh and Lilly roads between 6 and 8:30 a.m. Feb. 22. The caller tracked his phone online to an address in Milwaukee.

8A 14-year-old was cited for retail theft at Burlington Coat Factory, 12575 W. Capitol Drive, about 3:30 p.m. Feb. 22 and released to her mother.

9A woman reportedly pretended to run into a canopy pole in the parking lot at Open Pantry, 17235 W. Bluemound Road, about 5 p.m. Feb. 22. She limped into the station, complaining of an injury, and the lone attendant then went into the back room to get her a chair and ice. Surveillance footage shows that during that time, the woman concealed about $30 in merchandise, then purchased a couple small items and left.

DRUG POSSESSION

10A resident of the 4700 block of Shasta Drive called police about 9 a.m. Feb. 20 to say her sister had stormed out of the house after their mom walked into the bathroom, saw her sister shooting heroin and told her she was taking her to get help.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

11A man was arrested for drunken driving, third offense, at 135th Street and Acre View Drive about 11:30 p.m. Feb. 22.

OTHER

12A home in the 1200 block of Edwards Street was fraudulently listed for rent on Hotpads.com. The owner told police about 1:20 p.m. Feb. 17 that someone had come to his house the previous day to see it after finding the listing. He said his house was for sale and the person who put it on Hotpads.com likely used the information he had posted.

13A parent of a student at Burleigh Elementary School, 16185 Burleigh Place, told police about 3:30 p.m. Feb. 17 that her daughter got a note with a death threat. School officials said they would look into the note and advise police if further help was needed.

14A resident of the 16000 block of Elderlawn Parkway said a man came to the door and shone a flashlight into the windows about 9 p.m. Feb. 19. The caller said the man said, through the closed door, that the caller's windows were old and he was from an advertising company.

15A guest at Hooters, 17105 W. Bluemound Road, was dropped off about 3 p.m. Feb. 20 and was reported to police about 7 p.m. for being rude to staff, yelling and rolling around on the bathroom floor. The man was cited for disorderly conduct and released to a sober adult.

16A man reported to police for looking into windows with binoculars in the 14100 block of Golf Parkway about 9 a.m. Feb. 22 told officers he often goes through the area searching for deer and antlers.

Town of Brookfield

THEFT

17A car at the Majestic Theater, 770 Springdale Road, was broken into between 7 and 9 p.m. Feb. 18. A window was smashed and several items were taken, including a $1,500 laptop, an $80 briefcase and school documents.

DRUG POSSESSION

18A Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver about 2 a.m. Feb. 14 near Interstate 94 and Springdale Road. An officer pulled the man over after he failed to turn on his headlights. A search of the car yielded 73.25 grams of marijuana and $4,549 in cash. The case was referred to the district attorney's office.

Village of Elm Grove

THEFT

19A car in the 13300 block of Wrayburn Road was entered Feb. 21 or Feb. 22. Nothing was taken.

OTHER

20An officer placed an ottoman in front of a resident's front door in the 1600 block of Berkshire Drive about 8:40 a.m. Feb. 17 to stop it from blowing open in the wind after a neighbor called to report the door was wide open. The resident later called police when his daughter came home to find the ottoman blocking the door and found it suspicious.

21Police heard from four residents Feb. 22 who said they were contacted by someone claiming to be with the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department. The fraudulent caller told the individuals there were warrants out for their arrests for missing jury duty, and they needed to purchase "green money cards" from Walgreens for the bond amount to transfer funds.
