1A Brookfield woman reported that several pieces of jewelry, a total value of $30,000 were stolen from her home in the 4100 block of Stonewood Court within the in last three months. A herion addict had recently stayed at the house and her son had found one of her rings in the guest's purse. Police are investigating.
2Money and checks were stolen from a home in the 16600 block of Tanglewood Drive between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Oct. 25. Someone smashed a glass pane in the back door, and broke the door to an upstairs office. The resident suspects an ex-girlfriend put someone up to it.
3Jewelry was stolen from a home in the 17400 block of River Birch Drive between 5 and 7:30 p.m. Oct. 25. Loss is estimated between $5,000 and $10,000.
4A $700 wallet was stolen from an unlocked car at Barnes & Noble, 95 N. Moorland Road, between 11 a.m. and noon Oct. 21. The wallet contained $650, a driver's license, two debit cards and a credit card.
5Almost 400 pounds of steel were stolen from a fenced-in area outside Multiple Concrete Accessories, 4365 N. 124th St., between 5 p.m. Oct. 22 and 5 a.m. Oct. 23. The business reported that since Oct. 1, it has lost more than $11,500 worth of tie rod and anchor bolts.
6A wallet was stolen after a customer put it on a counter while paying for a meal at Original Pancake House, 1955 Alverno Drive, about 9:30 a.m. Oct. 23.
7A Milwaukee woman was arrested for retail theft at REI, 13100 W. Capitol Drive, after employees saw her conceal merchandise about 10 a.m. Oct. 25.
8A man was arrested for drunken driving, second offense, near Georges Avenue and Burnet Street about 3 a.m. Oct. 26 after he was spotted doing "doughnuts" in the Reformation Lutheran Church parking lot.
9A woman was arrested for drunken driving, second offense, near Capitol Drive and Lilly Road about 12:30 a.m. Oct. 27. Her blood-alcohol content was 0.14.
10Police intervened about 2 p.m. Oct. 23 at Brookfield East High School, 3305 Lilly Road, after a 17-year-old student made a threat via Twitter to harm another student and posted a photo of himself holding a revolver Oct. 12.
11A man left his daughter sleeping in a running car for about 10 minutes in the parking lot of Brookfield Square, 95 N. Moorland Road, about 3:30 p.m. Oct. 23. The man said he didn't want to wake her, and the child's mother said she would make sure it didn't happen again.

12A California man was arrested for retail theft near Bluemound and Janacek roads about 5 p.m. Oct. 22. He is suspected of taking sporting equipment from Brookfield's Golf Galaxy, 19030 W. Bluemound Road, and possibly several other stores throughout the state over an unknown period of time. During a traffic stop, officers recovered dozens of golf clubs and other sporting gear valued roughly at $19,000. Officers are working to identify the stores the items may have been stolen from.
13Police arrested a Brookfield man for drunken driving, second offense, after an officer saw him turn right at a "no turn on red" intersection at Interstate 94 and Barker Road at 2:25 a.m. Oct. 20. His BAC was 0.159.
14A Pennsylvania man was arrested for disorderly conduct at Motel 6, 20300 W. Bluemound Road, shortly after 12:15 a.m. Oct. 19. The man had been at Bullwinkle's, 20290 W. Bluemound Road, allegedly making unwanted advances on a woman, when the owner called police to make him leave. The man provided a name that was not his own, and the alternative name came up as having several warrants. When police went to his room at Motel 6 to confront him about the warrants, he gave his actual name and was cited for obstructing a police investigation. Due to complaints from another room that the man was yelling and banging on the walls, he also was arrested for disorderly conduct.
15A Milwaukee man was arrested for disorderly conduct for punching a woman, the mother of his daughter, at Extended Stay America, 325 N. Brookfield Road, about 11:50 p.m. Oct. 25.

16A bronze mermaid statue with a value of at least $5,000 was taken from a yard in the 1500 block of Greenway Terrace between 2 p.m. Oct. 15 and 2 p.m. Oct. 22.
17After a woman parked her car in neutral outside the Wine Cellar, 12910 W. Bluemound Road, about 7 p.m. Oct. 24, the vehicle rolled into a concrete median and struck a light pole.
18Residents in the 15200 block of Briar Ridge Court received letters addressed to "Submissive Peons" that included a petition addressed to Attorney General Eric Holder on Oct. 25. The return address, labeled "crimes against humanity," was that of a neighboring resident, who denied sending the letters. A post master said they may have been sent by a Milwaukee man who sent a similar mailing about a year ago.
