BURGLARY

1A homeowner saw a man in a ski mask use a screwdriver to break the basement window of a home in the 4100 block of North 143rd Street on Jan. 9. The man took off running when the homeowner spotted him.

THEFT

2A wallet was taken from a car in the 15500 block of Oak Lane overnight Jan. 7. A cinderblock was used to break the passenger-side window.

3A catalytic converter was taken from a car in the Brookfield Square parking lot, 95 N. Moorland Road, between 6:15 a.m. and 4 p.m. Jan. 7.

4A purse containing $220 in gift cards and cash was stolen from a car at the Wilson Center, 19805 W. Capitol Drive, between 7 and 7:45 p.m. Jan. 7.

5A 20-year-old man was arrested for theft at Pick 'n Save, 12735 W. Capitol Drive, at 7:49 p.m. Jan. 7. The value of the stolen items is unknown.

6An 18-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were arrested after taking ties and a purse from Boston Store, 15875 W. Bluemound Road, at 6:45 p.m. Jan. 8. No loss estimate was available.

7A guitar worth $3,600 was reported missing from inventory at The Guitar Center, 17135 W. Bluemound Road, Jan. 9. The guitar is believed to have been taken Jan. 4.

8About $900 was taken from an employee locker at T.J.Maxx, 17460 W. Bluemound Road, Jan. 9. It is unknown if the locker was secured.

9Change, $10 to $15 worth, was taken from an unlocked car in the 4600 block of North 135th Street between 7:30 p.m. Jan. 10 and 9 a.m. Jan. 11. The incident was reported at 9 a.m. Jan. 11.

10A 34-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for retail theft after switching price tags on items and attempting to return stolen items for store credit at JC Penney, 95 N. Moorland Road, at 7:49 p.m. Jan. 11.

11A 17-year-old Milwaukee girl was arrested for retail theft for taking a pair of jeans worth $160 from Buckle at Brookfield Square, 95 N. Moorland Road, at 4:52 p.m. Jan. 12.

12A catalytic converter was taken from a car at Brookfield Square, 95 N. Moorland Road, between 5:30 and 8 p.m. Jan. 12.

OTHER

Police responded to two calls related to domestic disputes last week.

THEFT

13A camera of undetermined value was taken from a car at The Melting Pot, 19850 W. Bluemound Road, between 7:15 and 9 p.m. Jan. 6. The driver-side window was broken to gain access.

14A 19-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested at 4:46 p.m. Jan. 7 for theft after removing a credit card from a co-worker's purse and using it to pay a utility bill and purchase diapers, men's cologne, motor oil and socks at Kmart, 18200 W. Bluemound Road, Dec. 26. The woman also removed a credit card from another co-worker's purse, wrote down the numbers, and used it to pay a cellphone bill and order a pair of jeans worth $300 from the Kmart website.

15A 20-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for stealing $240 worth of food, underwear and perfume at Kmart, 18200 W. Bluemound Road, at 6:10 p.m. Jan. 7.

16A purse worth $200 was taken from a car at Majestic Cinemas, 777 Springdale Road, at 12:15 a.m. Jan. 10. The car's window was smashed to gain access.

17A briefcase containing mail, a checkbook, an MP3 player and electronic tablet were taken from a car at Chuck E. Cheese, 19125 W. Bluemound Road, at 8:52 p.m. Jan. 10. Police later found the briefcase and mail in a nearby snow bank. The electronics were not inside. Police found a second car had been broken into. A child's backpack containing a calculator and school books was taken from it. The backpack and its contents were found scattered in the parking lot. Windows were smashed to gain access to both cars.

18A 29-year-old Wauwatosa man and a 36-year-old Milwaukee woman were arrested for retail theft for taking two electronic tablets, a value of $900, from Best Buy, 19555 W. Bluemound Road, and attempting to sell them to a nearby game exchange store at 8:52 p.m. on Jan. 14.

DRUG POSSESSION

19A 25-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop at Bluemound Road and Marcus Drive at 12:30 a.m. Jan. 6.

Village of Elm Grove

BURGLARY

20Jewelry, a laptop, an MP3 player and other items were taken from a home in the 13100 block of Lee Court between 7 p.m. Jan. 11 and Jan. 13. Loss is estimated at $6,500. It is unknown how the burglar gained access to the home.

THEFT

21A 65-year-old Menomonee Falls man was arrested for theft at Ace Hardware, 15360 Watertown Plank Road, at 12:51 p.m. on Jan. 12. The value of the items was not available.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

22A Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving at Watertown Plank and Sunnyslope roads at 2:05 p.m. Jan. 11. His blood-alcohol content was 0.15.
