The city of Brookfield Police Department has locked down the area near Azana Spa on Moorland Road across from Brookfield Square Mall after reports of a multiple shooting occurred at the spa sometime between 11 and 11:15 a.m.
Unconfirmed reports from eyewitnesses said the shooter might be a disgruntled husband or boyfriend of a salon worker.
Police evacuated people from the front and back of the Azana building. A woman was seen rolling and crawling as she left the building.
People went into a McDonald's restaurant, just north of the Azana building.
Unconfirmed reports by eyewitnesses said at least three people were shot. An eyewitness also said a barefoot girl who came out of the salon said: "He shot my mom. He's shooting everyone."
As of 11:55 a.m., tactical squads are going in and out of the building.
