Guhring Inc., 1505 Commerce Ave., suffered $225,000 in damages after a machine caught fire Aug. 24.
According to a City of Brookfield Fire Department news release:
Oil inside a planking machine heated up and caught fire just before 8 p.m.
Responding firefighters pushed through thick smoke to extinguish the fire by 8:30 p.m.
A fire extinguishing system within the machine failed to contain the fire.
No injuries were reported.
Firefighters from the town of Brookfield and village of Elm Grove assisted the city.
Guhring is a manufacturer of cutting tools with production and service center facilities in Brookfield and multiple other cities worldwide.
