Elmbrook foundation plans winter social March 12

The Elmbrook Education Foundation will hold its annual winter social from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. March 12 at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts, 19805 W. Capitol Drive.

Admission is $45 per person. Registration is required by March 1.

The social is open to parents, alumni, community members and Elmbrook staff members and will feature live music, casino games, a jewelry dig, raffles, food and refreshments.

Open Enrollment period runs through Feb. 25 in Elmbrook

The Elmbrook School District will open 102 Open Enrollment seats for the 2011-12 school year. Open Enrollment is the statewide district-to-district transfer program.

The Open Enrollment application period runs through 4 p.m. Feb. 25. Applications can be completed online at dpi.wi.gov/sms/psctoc.html.

A lottery system is used to fill Open Enrollment seats and establish grade level waiting lists. All applicants will be informed in writing by April 8 whether their child was selected for Open Enrollment.

Elmbrook's other nonresident program, Chapter 220, will not have any seats available for 2011-12.
