If you're looking for a gift for that hard-to-buy-for person, Brian Benecky has you - and them - covered.
As owner of Fan Appreciation at Brookfield Square, Benecky has carved out a niche in the apparel market by being able to take photos, images, words - or a combination of all three - and make them into a custom shirt or sweat shirt.
"Being able to give someone a truly customized shirt is a great gift that people always seem to love," he said. "We can take an existing photo or image, and really make it into something unique that reflects the personality of the person giving the gift or the recipient."
Benecky began making customized clothing a few years ago. Since then he has steadily grown this side of his business to making shirts and clothing for businesses across the country, as well as individual orders from walk-in customers in the mall.
"It sounds cliché to say it, but with our capabilities, no order is too big for us to handle," he said. "Just two weeks ago we did an order for a local advertising agency's company outing. The shirts had four-color logos on the front and back. The colors really popped off the shirts and stood out; they were very pleased with them."
Clothing can be made in as little as 10 minutes while people wait. Benecky also has design software that enables him to put words or other designs on an image.
One walk into his store and you'll notice that Fan Appreciation sells more than just clothing.
Anything Green Bay Packers -and the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings, for that matter - is available for purchase.
"There are a lot of Bears and Vikings fans that walk among us, so we cater to them, too," Benecky chuckled.
He has memorabilia from several other NFL teams, as well as Milwaukee Brewers, Wisconsin Badgers and a selection of pop culture items.
