Man tries to get arrested to get a good night's sleep

Aug. 31, 2010 | 8 comments

A drunken Brookfield man searching for a place to sleep tried to get caught stealing so he could spend the night in a jailhouse bed, police said.

An officer saw the man steal a number plate from a sign at a gas station at 2:41 a.m. Friday, according to Brookfield police.

When asked why he took the plate, the man said he was drunk and desperate for a warm bed - at any cost.

The man was not cited, and was released to his mother.

  1. anyone who doesnt see the tie in between this besotted number plate thief and glenn beck simply isnt thinking clearly.
  2. many times when a man steals a number plate (and who among us hasnt) his mommy comes to pick him up. this is a very nice family moment, picking up your sotted son and his number plate when the cops dont even want him. i believe it would be important to know what number the man took. any nd reumber over 5 should have been dealt with severely. we should realize also the attraction of number plates. my uncle mildred had one of those most extensive number plate collections in the country in the mid 50s. he made a lot of money selling them on ebay before the braves came to town. although hed never sell any of the number 4s, just sentimental i guess. or, perhaps, just mental. hopefully mommy will see her sons attraction to these plates and frame this one and put it next to his GED-if he ever gets it. in the late 90s there was a rash of number plate thefts in eastern montana. we can hope this isnt a start of those terrifying times. we overlook this at our peril.
  3. jayouk, it must be nice living inside your litlle world with simple rationalizations.

Yes, Glenn Beck is a dangerous man with dangerous messages such as:

this country is spending itself into oblivion, threatening our standard of living and our national security in the process

Heaven forbid we stop being politically correct and start facing the hard realities caused by the Ponzi scheme that has been perpertrated over the last 40+ years by Congress.

What this has to do with a drunken teen-adult in Brookfield I have no idea but you seem to think that Glenn Beck is worthy of mention here

    Enjoy your simple day
