Stagecoach Inn Museum open through October

The Dousman Stagecoach Inn Museum, 1075 Pilgrim Parkway in Brookfield, is open from 1 to 4 p.m. the first and third Sundays of each month through Oct. 1.

Guests can tour the 1840s inn, learn about life in the 1800s and see a display of Civil War-era newspapers and historic photos from towns in Waukesha County.

Nora Collins to appear at Wilson Center

Nora Collins, winner of the 2012 WAMI Rising Star Award and Wisconsin Texaco Country Showdown, will appear at the Starry Nights concert at 6 p.m. July 6 at the Wilson Center, 19805 W. Capitol Drive.

Local attorneys to host estate planning information session

Attorney Jaclynn Miller Lephardt and Terry L. Campbell will offer information and answer questions on estate planning at 7 p.m. July 10 at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road.

Stuffed animals invited to sleep over at library

Kids preschool-age through grade two can bring their favorite stuffed animal or doll to the Elm Grove Public Library, 13600 Juneau Blvd., between 6:30 and 7 p.m. July 24 for a sleepover. (Just the toys spend the night, not the kids.)

Staff will tuck the toys in for the night with cookies and stories.

Come back at 10 a.m. July 25 to pick them up and see photos of the fun activities the toys took part in during the night.

Registration is required.

Come watch a movie at the Elm Grove library

Stop by the Elm Grove Public Library, 13600 Juneau Blvd., for Tuesday Movie Matinees from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays through July 31.

Free summer concert series scheduled through August

The city of Brookfield and Wheaton Franciscan Elmbrook Memorial present the 2012 Civic Plaza Concert series from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Wednesdays at 2000 N. Calhoun Road. The series runs until Aug. 15.

Angelina's Deli will deliver a pre-ordered special concert dinner to the Civic Centre Plaza. For the dinner, call Angelina's Deli at (262) 938-9038 a day or two in advance of the concert.

Elm Grove summer reading for adults on tap

Elm Grove Public Library, 13600 Juneau Blvd., is hosting the Between the Covers Adult Summer Reading Program. To participate, check out two or more adult or young adult books, CD books or magazines.

Complete an entry form and deposit it in the bag at the service desk. You will be eligible for weekly prize drawings. Two prizes will be awarded each week. Prizes are on display near the service desk.

To qualify for the grand prize drawing, submit a short book review on the form available at the information desk. The grand prize will be a $50 gift card to Parkside 23 Restaurant in Brookfield.

The program is open to adults and runs through Aug. 4.

Central Booster club to hold annual fundraiser

The Brookfield Central High School Booster Club is once again hosting its annual Golf Outing and Summer Social.

This year's fundraising event will be held Aug. 12 at the Silver Spring Country Club and will include a day of golf along with dinner, entertainment, prizes and an auction. To reserve a spot or to learn about sponsorship opportunities, call Tom Reuteman at (414) 758-5462.

Program to help adults understand Medicare

Debbie Bisswurm, an outreach specialist with the Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging Resources, will provide an overview of Medicare, including Parts A, B, C and D, as well as supplemental policies and savings programs during "Understanding Medicare and Maximizing Your Benefits" scheduled for 2 p.m. July 17 at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road.

Kids get creative with summer writing contest

This summer there will be a writing contest for students of all ages, kindergarten through high school, at the Elm Grove Public Library, 13600 Juneau Blvd.

Prizes will be awarded to winners in different age categories. Entries will be displayed in the library for members of the public to view.

Complete rules and entry forms are available at the library.

Stories will be due Aug. 3.
