Marcie Lynn McGowan and Mark George Patterson of Kenosha were married July 16, 2011, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Hoffman Estates, Ill.
Parents of the bride are Kevin and Jane McGowan of Schaumburg, Ill. The groom's parents are Dave and Barbara Patterson of Brookfield.
Courtney Madenberg, friend of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Ruth Cussen, Julie Patterson and Maggie Piery.
John Patterson, brother of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Adam Lieber, Paul Rutkowski, John McGowan and Tom McGowan.
The bride wore a gown of ivory satin featuring a draped bodice, beaded dropped waist, and fully embroidered and beaded chapel train. Her veil was embroidered and beaded, as well. She carried a bouquet of pink and ivory roses.
The bride, a 2005 graduate of Schaumburg High School, received her bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. She is currently employed by Kenosha Medical Center.
The groom, a 2005 graduate of Johnsburg High School, earned a degree in nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2009. He is employed by St. Catherine's Medical Center.
The couple's reception was held at The Seville in Streamwood.
The two honeymooned in Hawaii.
