Jenny Johnson and Drew Smith of Oakdale, Minn., were married July 9, 2011, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Brookfield.
Parents of the bride are Mark and Lynn Johnson of Brookfield. The groom's parents are David and Shelley Smith, also of Brookfield.
The Rev. Ken Knippel officiated the 2 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at The Legend at BrandyBrook in Wales.
The bride wore a Dolce satin and organza gown with a sweetheart-cut beaded bodice and a satin ribbon belt. She carried a bouquet of hydrangeas and pink roses.
Laurie Donnell of Madison, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Becky Koehler of St. Louis, Mo., Melissa Matthews of Chicago, Bridette Smith of Brookfield, Emily Minton of Eau Claire, and Kasie La Blanc of New Orleans. Flower girl was Maya Luko of Black Earth.
Brandon Smith of Waukesha, brother of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Matthew Johnson of Minneapolis, Michael Johnson of Brookfield, Mike Hizmi of Brookfield, Brandon Johnson of Eau Claire, and Matt Caine of Duluth, Minn. Ushers were Dave Deering of Eden Prairie, Minn., and Jerad Poling of Minneapolis.
The bride, a 2005 graduate of Brookfield Central High School, earned her undergraduate degree in 2009 from the University of Minnesota and her master's degree in deaf education in 2011 from Washington University. She is a teacher of deaf and hard of hearing at Northern Voices in Minneapolis.
The groom, a 2004 graduate of BCHS, earned his bachelor's degree in business operations and materials management in 2008 from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He is a divisional supply chain analyst with 3M in St. Paul.
The couple planned a 10-day European honeymoon in London, Edinburgh and Dublin.
