Katelyn Thomas of Brookfield earned her bachelor's degree in biology cum laude from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in August.

Wyatt Underhill of Elm Grove is one of four winners of the 2012 Concerto Competition at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio in October. The annual competition is open to conservatory seniors and diploma candidates. Underhill, a violinist who has been playing since the age of 6, has appeared as a soloist with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and the Colorado College Summer Music Festival Orchestra. In the summer of 2012, he served as concertmaster of the latter, and he has frequently performed in the role of concertmaster at Oberlin. He will perform his winning repertoire for the public in May.

Eric Chen and Evan Huang of Brookfield earned scholarships in the strings division, for grades six to eight, of the Greater Milwaukee Baroque Festival held in October on the campus of Wisconsin Lutheran College. Eric placed first in their division; Evan placed third. Honorable mention went to Bonnie Jin of Brookfield in the piano division, grades six to eight, and Alex Ge of Brookfield in the piano and strings divisions, grades kindergarten to five. The festival, in its fifth year, was presented for the first time by Musical Offering Ltd. Approximately 60 students through grade 12 competed for trophies and scholarships.
