Joanna Bickler and Mark Cygan of Huntington Beach, Calif., are planning an Aug. 11, 2012, wedding in Dana Point, Calif.
Parents of the couple are Jim and Joan Bickler of Brookfield and Mike and Nancy Cygan of Quakertown, Penn.
The bride-to-be earned a degree in early childhood education from Miami Univeristy in Oxford, Ohio. She is a sixth-grade teacher with Marine View Middle School in Hintington Beach.
The future groom earned a degree in secondary science education from Pennsylvania State University. He is a science teacher at Estancia High School in Costa Mesa, Calif.
