Lauren Williams and Ryan Arruda were married July 10, 2009, in Newport, R.I.

Parents of the bride are Keith Williams of Chicago and Betsy Williams of Brookfield. Parents of the groom are Carlton and Christine Arruda of North Kingstown, R.I.

The Rev. Dennis Reardon officiated the 5 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at the Ocean Cliff Hotel, Newport.

The bride wore a crème, silk organza gown with Chantilly lace and a chapel veil. She carried a bouquet of hydrangeas, peonies and pink roses.

Maid of honor was Meg Williams of Chicago, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Ashley Ingalls Grout of Ashland, Mass.; Lauren Miller of West Hartford, Conn.; and Bethany Wuelfing of North Brookfield, Mass.

Best man was Steve Doscher of Boston, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Eric Miller of West Hartford, Conn.; Chris Colozzo of Coventry, Mass.; and Jeff Swanson, North Kingstown, R.I.

The bride earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Lake School in Hartland and her master's degree from Clark University in Worcester, Mass. She is a second-grade teacher at Burgess Elementary School in Sturbridge, Mass.

The groom earned his bachelor's degree at Clark University. He is pursuing his master's degree in graphic design at the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence.

The couple honeymooned in Ogunquit, Maine. They reside in Worcester, Mass.
