James T. Starken of Brookfield died April 30, 2009, at age 82.
He was born in Rochester, N.Y., on Oct. 31, 1926, to the late Thomas and Gertrude Starken.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Audrey (nee Sherman); children, Gail Swedish, Mary (Michael) Ting-Kusch, Patrick (Virginia) Starken and Ann (David) Furru; grandchildren, Jessica (Francois) Kerkhofs, Rachel Swedish, Jason, Andrea and Aaron Ting, Natalie and Bradley Starken, and Daniel and Thomas Furru; great-grandchildren, Francesca and Elliot Kerkhofs; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Brian.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated May 7 at St. Luke Church, Brookfield. Private committal services were at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to St. Luke Church.
Becker Ritter Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
