Robert M. "Bob" Lehmkuhl of Elm Grove died April 22, 2009, in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., at age 70.

He was an avid boater and art collector with his wife of 45 years, Kristin. Most recently, they enjoyed boating out of Annapolis, Md., and Ft. Lauderdale. Their collection of Wisconsin decoy art is nationally recognized, and his research on Wisconsin decoys was regularly published.

After the Air Force, he began his career at Time/Life in New York and was a marketing executive for Wisconsin Bell and AT&T in New York. In 1987 he founded Paine Communications, a corporate communications and design services company in Milwaukee. He remained chairman and CEO of Paine until his death.

He is survived by his wife, Kristin (nee Rasmussen); children, Michael J. of Washington, D.C., Gregory M. of Cherry Hill, N.J., John C. of Elm Grove, and Sarah A. (Derek) Hyde of Brookfield; grandchildren, Thomas W., Joseph C. and Kathryn H. Hyde; sister, Jeanne (Paul) Miller of Brookfield; brother, James (Kim) Lehmkuhl of Elm Grove; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel F. and Helen R. Lehmkuhl (nee Ziegler).

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated April 30 at St. Mary's Church, Elm Grove. Graveside service was at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Saint Francis Seminary or Food for the Poor.

Becker Ritter Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
