After graduating from the University of Dayton in Ohio, he married Cosmina "Connie" Pagura on Aug. 29, 1959, in Columbus, Ohio. He was a pioneer in establishing and organizing the educational programs at St. Mary's and St. Joseph's hospitals in Milwaukee. He was an adjunct professor at Cardinal Stritch University for the Hospital Administration program and the MBA program. He went on to own and operate a consulting business for 18 years in general health care management, retiring in 2002.

He volunteered as a teacher of English as a Second Language with the Literacy Council of Greater Waukesha. He and his wife are members of St. Joseph Catholic Church. With his lifelong hobby of being a magician, he was a member of International Brotherhood of Magicians and Society of American Magicians. He was an excellent baker and enjoyed making special treats for his family.

(Gregory Capper) Bedwell; grandchildren, Michelle, Melissa, Margaret, Ashton Taylor and Emmett; step-grandchildren, Sherman (Kristina) Bedwell and Ona Broach; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by baby grandson, Mercer Davide Bedwell.

The family thanks Dr. Dougherty, Dr. Verma, Dr. Riordan and all the staff at ProHealth Care; Dr. Walsh, his son Christopher Walsh, Dr. Lawrence Burkert and all the staff at Wheaton Franciscan.

Randle-Dable Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
