John F. "Jack" Doucette of Brookfield, formerly of Elm Grove, died in his home Jan. 31, 2009, at age 81.
For more than five years, Doucette confronted the increasing debilitation of his illness with courage and dignity. His strong faith was nurtured by Marquette University High School and Marquette University, where he earned a law degree, played basketball and football, and earned a letter in golf.
Doucette served as corporate counsel for Milwaukee Insurance Co. For more than 23 years, Doucette coached, first his children's teams and later the Special Olympics basketball team, which he took to state finals. Doucette embraced life in a way that drew others to him. He was passionate about golf, gin rummy, the shack, and most especially family and friends. He shared his kindness with all, without distinction. Never holding a grudge, he understood the power of forgiveness. His passion for life remains a part of all who loved him.
