Sarah Semon and Wesley Sylla were married Aug. 4, 2012, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Carol Stream, Ill.
Parents of the bride are Ted and Lynn Semon of Carol Stream. The groom's parents are David and Cheri Sylla of Brookfield.
The Rev. Robert Hoffenkamp officiated the 2 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at the Westin Hotel in Ithasca, Ill.
The bride wore a white taffeta gown with beading and a sweetheart neckline. She carried a bouquet of pink-toned roses and bridal veil.
Kristine Boudreau of Carol Stream was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mary Baldwin of Carol Stream, Sara Smith of Glendale Heights, and Elizabeth Crane of Brookfield. Savannah McMahon, niece of the groom, was flower girl.
Pushpa Weeratanga, friend of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Andrew Buckett, Daniel Van Aartsen and Daniel Lans of Brookfield. Karl Wallbruch, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.
Ushers were Brian Sylla and Kevin Sylla, brothers of the groom.
The bride earned her bachelor's degree in animal science from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in 2011. She is a student at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, Champaign-Urbana.
The groom earned his bachelor's degree in political science from the UM-Twin Cities in 2010. He is a student at the University of Illinois Law School, Champaign-Urbana.
The couple spent their eight-day honeymoon in Tahiti and Bora Bora.
