Saloon on Calhoun raises money for Cancer Society

Saloon on Calhoun - with Bacon, 17000 W. Capitol Drive Brookfield, is holding a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society from 5 to 10 p.m. Aug. 23.

There will be a minimum $10 donation, which will provide the donor a wristband the day of the event. The wristband will be good for drink and food specials provided throughout the evening. Donors can call (262) 783-0222 and pledge an amount, or pay by credit card and they will be added to the "wristband list." Wristbands can also be purchased the day of the event.

A raffle will begin at 5 p.m. with drawings at 9:15 p.m. Winners do not need to be present. Live entertainment will be provided from 6 to 10 p.m. by solo acoustic rock musician Daniel T.

Local vendors will be offering free drink samples to attendees.

Brookfield Chamber of Commerce to host golf outing

The Greater Brookfield Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 30th annual golf outing Aug. 19 at Ironwood Golf Course, W270 N6166 Moraine Drive in Sussex.

After 19 holes, enjoy cocktails, dinner and a raffle. Proceeds raised will benefit the Greater Brookfield Chamber of Commerce. The cost for an individual is $165 and $600 for four.

Brookfield library program showcases posters from Paris

Posters of Paris is slated for 7 p.m. Aug. 29 at the Brookfield Public Library, 1900 N. Calhoun Road.

Ray Kehm, a Milwaukee Art Museum docent, will discuss the finest examples of Parisian lithographic posters, which are currently on display at MAM. Artists include Pierre Bonnard, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Alphonse Mucha.
