Therese Wenzel and Brian Aleinikoff of Minneapolis were married May 19, 2012, at Pier Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
Parents of the bride are Mark and Lorrie Wenzel of Brookfield. The groom's parents are John and Deborah Aleinikoff of Denver, Colo.
The Rev. Lorrie Wenzel and Cantor Arlene Spanier officiated the Christian-Jewish interfaith ceremony at 5 p.m., which was followed by a reception at Pier Wisconsin.
The bride wore an organza fit-and-flair gown with a chapel-length veil. She carried a bouquet of white peonies.
Katy Wenzel, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Shelly Wenzel of Brookfield, Becca Wenzel of Boston, Mass., Jessica Esser of Denver, Lauren Sivo of Boston, Sarah Anderson of Milwaukee, and Vanessa Wishart of Madison. Lily Sivo, niece of the groom, was flower girl.
Nikolas Stoffel, friend of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Ross Mattson of St. Paul, Alex Marston of Minnetonka, Minn., Robert Webber of Norwich, Vt., Scott Sivo of Boston, Joseph Gwin of Washington, D.C., and Sam Voss of Brookfield.
The bride earned her master's degree in social work and her doctorate in law from the University of Wisconsin-Madison on May 18, 2012.
The groom earned his master's degree in molecular and cellular biology from Tufts University and his doctorate in law from UW-Madison. He is an attorney with Robins, Kaplan, Miller and Ciresi.
The two met during their first year of law school at UW-Madison. The groom proposed to his bride on Christmas Day.
