Stephen and Moira McManus of Elm Grove are the parents of Declan Emmett Dempsey McManus, born Nov. 8, 2011, at St. Joseph Hospital in Milwaukee. He was 8 pounds, 3 ounces, and 21 inches long. He joins sisters Kaileigh, 13, Darby, 12, Aisling, 9, Brenna, 6, Niamh, 5, and Tressa, 2, and brother Taidgh, 10.

Bradley Cox of Brookfield made the winter semester dean's list at Bethel University in St. Paul, Minn.

Rachel Daily of Brookfield, a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, has been awarded a $500 study-abroad scholarship for the spring 2012 semester. An elementary and special education student, she plans to study abroad in Costa Rica.

Seniors Kelly Brandstaetter and Emily Hadjimarkos of Brookfield were named campus ambassadors at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. They represent the university at a variety of campus functions and often are the first people visitors meet on campus.

SCHOOLSCENE

Soprano Chantal Tribble of Brookfield, a senior at Milwaukee High School of the Arts, earned a $250 scholarship for her performances in the Civic Music Association's music competition in Milwaukee in January. In addition, she earned the $500 Donald & Idabelle Mohr Scholarship.
