Angela Ertola and Samuel Strom of Menlo Park, Calif., are planning an Oct. 27, 2011, wedding in Menlo Park.
Parents of the couple are Richard and Kathy Ertola of Rocklin, Calif., and Dennis and Betty Jo Strom of Brookfield.
The bride-to-be earned her bachelor's degree in liberal arts and psychology from California State University-Chico and her master's degree in education from University of California-Davis. She is a fourth-grade teacher in Menlo Park.
The future groom earned his bachelor's degree in computer engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He is an electrical/computer engineer in Santa Clara, Calif.
The couple met in Palo Alto, Calif., in April 2009 and became engaged Nov. 27, 2010.
