Crucial stretch for boys basketball teams
The next week will be a crucial time for the Brookfield Central, East and Wauwatosa East boys in the Greater Metro Conference basketball race.
The Lancers and Red Raiders meet tonight at Tosa East and the Red Raiders will be looking to avenge their 58-44 beating at BC in the conference opener on Dec.3.
Then the Lancers host Marquette on Friday and they will be looking to reverse a 53-50 loss to the Hilltoppers on Dec. 10.
Meanwhile Tosa East travels to Brookfield East and the Spartans are always a pain in coach Tim Arndorfer's side. The Spartans lost a 40-34 decision in Tosa on Dec. 10, but they did beat the Red Raiders twice last season.
Then on Tuesday, the Red Raiders travel to face the Hilltoppers, who they crushed, 70-41, at home on Dec. 14. You think Marquette won't be looking for some revenge.
For the Lancers, having lost to West Allis Central, Arrowhead and Brookfield East, this is a big week for coach Mark Adams crew.
Tosa East has won five in a row and six of their last seven games.
Brook East coach Andy Farley's crew has won 5 of 6, with only a 59-51 loss to MUHS in that stretch.
It will be interesting to see where everyone stands next Wednesday,
