Sky's the Limit

Hold onto your hats, Whitefish Bay, the Trojans and Raiders are coming to town

Wednesday night members of the Wauwatosa East and West boys volleyball team probably had trouble sleeping. And it had nothing to do with the classes.

You see the Trojan and Raider boys volleyball teams will traveling to the Whitefish Bay Field House Thursday night to play a 7 p.m. WIAA Sectional Championship match. The winner goes to state next Friday and Saturday at the Wisconsin Lutheran College Fieldhouse.

Both teams finished second in their conference - East behind Marquette and West behind Shorewood. The Raiders are the No. 1 seed in the sectional and the fourth-ranked team in the state. The Trojans are the third-seeded team and they beat No. 2-seeded Shorewood to get to the finals.

That means that Alex Conway, Aaron Uden, Ryan Hoffland, Mitch Cadrette and Alex Debord for the Raiders and Alec Redlich, Mitch Lahmann, Ryan Cvecko, Scott Wenzel, Paul Gerhartz, Adam Mraz, Keith Brown, Jimmy Bonkowski and Joe Balcerzak for the Trojans could be playing their final match for the their schools.

Tosa West last went to state in 2006, while the Red Raiders have won three straight seasons.

I can't wait.
