The Fur (& Feather!) Flyer

Established in 1965, HAWS assists over 6,000 animals and welcomes more than 31,000 human visitors annually. As an "open admissions" shelter we lead the community in animal welfare and assure sanctuary for all animals in need, regardless of age, health or temperament. HAWS is a non-profit, entirely donor-fund organization with an active humane education program, and both wildlife and companion animal rescue services for Waukesha County.

HAWS is “expecting” – and everyone is invited to celebrate!

The Kitten Shower fun is Saturday, June 28th from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the shelter at 701 Northview Road, Waukesha. This is a free event.

“Hundreds of cute kittens ‘rain’ on HAWS this time each year, so it is a great time for a
Kitten Shower,” notes HAWS’ Executive Director Lynn Olenik. “We invite the public to join in the fun – enjoy cake, win prizes, adopt a new family member – all while helping us raise the much-needed funds and supplies to care for the many feline bundles of joy we’ll welcome this year.”

HAWS’ Kitten Shower special features:

·         - Visit HAWS Kitty College socialization class! Watch the “students” in action, meet the class “professors” and learn how to enroll your kitten.

·         - Add a new member to the family and enjoy great adoption specials: All adult cat adopters will receive a special gift, while the first 30 kitten/cat adopters will receive a starter kit valued at over $50! Prospective adopters can be pre-approved by completing an application online or by filling out an application at HAWS in the days before the Kitten Shower.

·         - HAWS will be collecting items from the Wish List, including formula and food donations.

·         - Learn about Project Guardian, HAWS free spay/neuter program for outdoor cats that is winning the battle against cat overpopulation in our community!

Unable to attend?  Monetary donations can be made via snail mail at HAWS’ Kitten Shower, PO Box 834, Waukesha, WI  53187-0834, or through
Paypal on HAWS’ website.  Supply donations will be needed throughout the summer – check HAWS’ Wish List throughout the season and collect items to drop off at your next visit to the shelter!

By the way - a special thank you to Prairie Animal Hospital and Soerens Ford for their sponsorship of this event.
