Education Foundation Elects 2010-11 Board, Seeking Volunteers

The Elmbrook Education Foundation is a 501c3 organization that supports the students and schools of the Elmbrook School District by providing private financial support through the Foundation’s Educational Grant Programs. The Foundation also administers a community wide Continuing Education Scholarship program that matches scholarship donors to applicants that best meet the donor’s criteria. The Elmbrook Education Foundation’s permanent endowment includes honorary/memorial funds and funds supported by EEF Board members, Elmbrook staff, community members, and the alumni of Brookfield Central and Brookfield East High Schools.

The Foundation has a volunteer board of directors including 12-18 community members with guidance provided by Elmbrook administrators and community advisors. The Foundation’s new fiscal year began on July 1, 2010. The following changes have been made to the Foundation’s board of directors.

David Frank of Brookfield is currently serving a 3 year term (2008-2011) and has been elected President for the 2010-11 year.  David is an attorney at Reinhart Law in Brookfield.  He served as a chair of the Grants committee in 2008-2010 and plans to renew his position for another 3 year term (2011-2014).

Kurt Andrae of Elm Grove was elected to the board of directors for a 4 year term (2010-2014).  Kurt is Vice President of Commercial Real Estate at WaterStone Bank and serves as Director of the UW-Whitewater Foundation.  He will sit on the Finance Committee and shadow the current treasurer in 2010-11.  Kurt will officially assume the Treasurer position beginning in 2011.

Philip Miller, Shelley Botchek, Amy Hodges, and Kristin Urban (all of Brookfield) were elected to the board of directors for a 3 year term (2010-2013).  Philip is an attorney and partner of Weiss Berzowski Brady LLP.  He is a former member of the adjunct faculty at Marquette University Law School and frequently speaks at continuing legal education programs.  Philip will act as the Foundation's legal counsel and sit on the Foundation's Finance Committee for the 2010-11 year. Shelley is currently President of the Burleigh Elementary PTO and the chair of the District's Enrollment Management Study Team.   She has also served on the District's Elementary 5 Year Budget Plan Team.  Shelley will serve as a chair of the Events Committee for 2010-11. Amy is currently Treasurer of the Swanson Elementary PTO, does the bookkeeping for the Elmbrook Baseball Association and helps run an awning company in Downtown Milwaukee.  Amy will serve as a chair of the Grants Committee for 2010-11.  Kristin has a masters degree in public policy and administration and has worked primarily as an employee relations director throughout her career.  She is active in her school PTO's, chairs the Elmbrook Parent Leadership Council, and volunteers with the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts.  Kristin will be helping the Foundation with events and special appeals.

Kim Rogne (Brookfield) was elected to the board for a 2 year term (2010-2012).  She currently works for a data management company who specializes in non-profits and will be helping the Foundation update its data management strategy.
