OUR NEW MAYOR, HON. STEVE PONTO

Our new mayor is Steve Ponto. By now we all know that. It was a difficult uphill struggle to useat the incumbent in a city that supports their elected officials. And rightly so, because there is a long history of  trust in our great city.  This is supported by the close vote to keep the incumbent and still make a change. But the message came through loud and clear. We can and will do better.

Some of my friends did not agree with me on my open support for Steve Ponto. That is their right and I respect that. Maybe I got to know both candidates and decided Steve was the better choice.

Now is the time for no negative thoughts. Give Steve a chance.

The important issues facing our new administration are so voluminous that there will be dissent. I have found Steve to be a very good listener and even adopt some ideas he has heard.

I urge the common council to attempt in good faith to be  unanimous and follow your leader.

I am so impressed with the family, supporters and friends of Steve. Believe me , I have been around the block, and his campaign never had a negative thought. All their support was positive.

The City of Brookfield can be proud to be an example of people who care about each other.

  1. Say Dick, will vijay and cousin gupta have to put the lawn in over at vk's castle now that Ponto is in charge? I think geeta ought to be able to keep her chicken coop in the front yard. It adds a rustic touch!
  2. Since Marquardt was making more than the mayor taxpayers can just think of Ponto as a free mayor.

I don't think they'll fill any spots. If you read Marquardt's job description, it was all over the place. All of those areas have people who will take the reigns easily.
  3. I didn't vote for him, but best wishes to our new Mayor.
  4. Well Elfie you got your answer! Marquardt has four weeks to go. If Ponto is the man I think he will be as mayor, he won't replace Dean and the city will save a bundle! We got a twofer this election!
  5. Dick, shall I serve little cookies, or what?

By the way, did you notice that Ponto has already saved Brookfield $108,785 a year? Yep, Marquardt resigned!
  6. elf. blog is too long and unwieldy. can you make it more friendly
  7. By the way Dick, what is your official prediction: will the Ponce de Leon of the NFL return to play for the ViQueens again this year?

He's on his way to 70,000 yards - actually he ought to break 40 miles (70,400 yards) sometime this fall!
  8. Hey Dick, I happened to run into this on youtube. Thought you might enjoy watching it.

  9. Steve Ponto will make his own decisions, one of the many reasons he won the election.
  10. So tell us Dick, will Ponto keep Marquardt on as shadow mayor, or can Ponto actually do the job himself?

Also, will you continue to threaten life and limb by driving that Tokyo Rosemobile, or will you be taking your lady love to the swearing-in in your 1939 Crosley Convertible?
