The Elmbrook Education Foundation supports the students at all 11 of the District's public schools through its Continuing Education Scholarship, Innovation Grant and Super Grant Programs. In addition, the Foundation has established an endowment held by the Waukesha County Community Foundation to provide a source of permanent support for Foundation programs. Discovery World Partners with Elmbrook Education Foundation for Pi (3.14) Day - Discounted Admission for $10!

Calling all fans of math and even those who find math scary. Join the Elmbrook Education Foundation at Discovery World on Sunday, March 14 (3.14) for Pi Day. People coming to Discovery World on March 14th will find a wide array of activities to challenge their math skills and to find out that math really can be fun.
Some of the activities include a Pi Recitation Contest. Contestants can recite the Pi formula and vie for prizes. Prizes will be awarded to those who can recite the longest Pi formula. Winners will be selected every hour and there will be one grand prize winner selected from the hourly winners.
Don’t want to recite the Pi formula? No problem. Visitors can also make a Pi bracelet or key chain. They can get a Pi tattoo at no charge and participate in other Pi activities.
And, after all that, what better way to celebrate Pi Day than with a slice of apple pie and a cup of coffee on Discovery World’s promenade? Members of the Brookfield Central High School Key Club will be on hand to serve the pie and all proceeds will benefit the Elmbrook Education Foundation. Pies provided through the generosity of Waterstone Bank. Buy a raffle ticket for $1 to enter to win a family membership to Discovery World!
Come early if you are interested in seeing the finals of the Regional Barista Competition hosted by ALTERRA COFFEE. Come on out to see the Great Lakes area’s (Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio) finest baristas vie for a chance to compete at the U.S. Barista Championship in Anaheim, CA this April.
What exactly does a barista competition entail?
Fifteen minutes, four cappuccinos, four espressos, and four signature drinks prepared in front of a panel of judges. A strong focus is placed on presentation, cleanliness, professionalism, and of course, the quality of the drinks prepared.
This event takes place over 3 days; however, the finals will be from 10:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. during Pi Day at Discovery World on Sunday 3/14/10. We encourage every coffee enthusiast to come out and experience the fascinating world of barista competitions! Spectators at the event are welcome to step up to the “4th machine,” where they can sample the coffees, espressos, and signature beverages being prepared by competitors.
The awards presentation will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Discovery World's promenade so grab a slide of pie and enjoy the show.
Pi Day is Sunday, March 14 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and is included with general admission - $16.95 for adults, $12.95 for children. However, THOSE MENTIONING THE ELMBROOK EDUCATION FOUNDATION WILL RECEIVE ADMISSION FOR ONLY $10.
