School Spotlight
Whether you're on your way to the library or stopping by City Hall, chances are you're driving by St. John Vianney School, located in the heart of Brookfield. This blog will provide insight into life and education at SJV, a 4K-8 educational anchor in Brookfield since 1957.
A Busy Place for Performing Arts
The Fine Arts program is one of the many reasons why we believe St. John Vianney School stands out among other schools. SJV school has been buzzing with activities these past several weeks.
Last week, the St. John Vianney and St. Dominic’s Advanced String Orchestra was invited to record a Christmas music track for the charity CD “Sing For Supper” benefiting the Agape Community program. Agape feeds the hungry and provides many great services to those less fortunate. The Advanced String Orchestra was the only elementary school group invited to the recording. Others performing for the CD were the Marquette University High School Choir, DSHA Choir and Milwaukee Police Band and Heritage Chorale.
This past Tuesday, SJV had its annual SJV variety show, Vianney Varieties. Students put together an outstanding show with 16 skits, songs and various stage performances. Vianney Varieties is a place where new stars are born. Students from grades 5 through 8 auditioned for a part, and for many, had their first taste of public performance. With so many stars gracing the SJV hallways this week, you had to wear shades!
If you missed this week’s Varieties performance, don’t worry. On Wednesday Oct. 28th, the St. John Vianney/St. Dominic’s String Orchestra and Band will perform their annual Fallfest Concert. In addition to the String Orchestra and Band ensembles, the St. John Vianney Shamrock Choir will also make a guest appearance. Among the performers are several talented parents. The Fallfest Concert will be at 7:00pm in the SJV gym.
St. John Vianney School offers many opportunities for students to develop and share their artistic talents. All are welcome, so please, join us and help support these young talents.
