The lyrics of the song "Let's accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative , and don't mess with Mr. in-between", has been reminding me of days once forgotten but ever remembered by me.
In today's American society the negative has become more popular because it cannot be proven The positive is based on the facts and need not be proven.
The negative is irresponsible because it does not respond to the inquiry at hand and only refutes the truth.
These are strong words from a senior community leader and one who has devoted a lifetime to public service but it has to be said.
A senior citizen gets weary of hearing the same old negative comments which add absolutely nothing to the betterment of our social well-being.
Our great country was not built by those who were satisfied with the status quo. It they found something wrong they sought a cure to make it better.
With technology replacing personal communication and personal insight into the nature of the universe it is time to take a step back and reconsider who we are and where we are going.
To me, it is a blessing to to see and hear our senior citizens speak words of wisdom and exemplify the character of the goodness in all of us.
The challenges ahead are many but the wisdom of the ages are equal to the task.
