What a game to start the season for the Green Bay Packers. Both teams have a history of being one the first professional teams and the geographic areas make for a mixture of fans on both sides of the ball. Remember it was a $500 loan from the Bear franchise in the early days that saved the Packer franchise from extinction. The rivalry is the oldest and best in pro football.
The 2009-2010 season will start with both teams having an equal chance to beat out the Vikings for the Northern division title and maybe an NFL championship and a trip to the Super Bowl.
The Bears begin with a new QB and the Packers begin with a new defense.
The difference makers will be who controls the football and who takes advantage of the chances to score early and often.
As a Packer fan going back to the days when Don Hutson graced the field at State Fair Park every game will be a must see.
One game does not make a season but this opening gala may just come close.
