Local Stuff Going On

There is some local stuff going on. Some you may know and some you may not know, or even want to know ! There is an election for City of Brookfield Mayor in April. The challenger to the incumbent has not launched a visible campaign and the clock is ticking. There is a proposal for the vacant gas station land on 138 and W. North which looks like a winner. A professional office building will be an improvement over the present eyesore. Brookfield Square development is at a hot pace to restructure and rebuild. No word on better control of traffic at our largest shopping mall. You can see for yourself that the city snow plows have been busy to keep our streets safe. In the works and on the agenda there is a proposal to change the method of garbage pick-up. Indications are that homeowners will not have to take their garbage, cans, bottles and papers to the end of their driveway. To this observer the new streets on Capitol Drive have not been an effective manner of pedestrian traffic. The brutal effects of this winter will become know when the thawing takes place. Then we will know the cost of the repairs needed on the roadways.
