SMV Ponderings
Located in the heart of Elm Grove, St. Mary’s Visitation School provides exceptional academics and faith formation for grades K3 through 8.
St. Mary's Visitation - Math Competitions and Quiz Bowl
The participants are students at junior high schools and middle schools from
Wisconsin and Illinois. We will have approximately 12 teams from 5 schools
participating. There are about 25 SMV junior high students who participate.
Quiz bowl, scholastic bowl, or academic competition is the name for a number of
related academic events. Students compete on teams of four to buzz in,
answering trivia-type questions about history, geography, literature, science,
math, religion, fine arts, and popular culture. Each game lasts about 25
minutes, and students will generally play eight to ten games on a tournament
day. St. Mary's teams placed in the top 25 at the Middle School National
Championship Tournament in 2011 and 2012.

CUB SCOUTS Service Project
In early November, the 3rd grade Cub Scouts (under the leadership of Jim Walters) helped with Fall clean up, including raking and lawn care for elderly homewoners in our neighborhoods.
Thank you Cub Scouts, your work is greatly appreciated!!

ALL SAINTS DAY CELEBRATION
On All Saints Day, the 3rd graders presented their saints at our All School Mass and explained the symbols for their Saint. This was a wondrous and joyous celebration of the lives of the Saints.

Thank you, 3rd graders!
