Election Prediction
Tuesday this week the big recall election will take place and the national press will cover the event from beginning to end and a lot more thereafter.
The predictions are that it will be a cliff hanger of a race for Governor.
My prediction is that Governor Scott Walker will win.
It is very difficult to defeat an incumbent Governor in either a regular or a recall election. The Republican party is united to stand up for the Governor and he has total control of his people. All of the protesting and hoopla over the budget decisions gave him more supporters than he had before. The Democratic primary caused a rift between their Milwaukee and Madison political units that may cost some loss of votes.
And most of all the very idea of a recall election with all the money spent to defeat a newly elected Governor will be enough to tip the scales in favor of the Governor.
