Senior Viewpoint

Dick Steinberg has resided in the city of Brookfield for 35 years. He served 34 years as municipal judge and has been an attorney for 50 years. He enjoys tennis, golf, biking and creative writing, which includes legal issues, sports, government and people.

The award winning music has been repopularized by rock bands, country western singers and by pop stars who recreated the words.

Seniors Deserve Respect

The reason I decided to name my blog "Senior Viewpoint" is that as a senior my viewpoint and the viewpoint of my senior peers has changed from whence we were young at heart, mind and body.

The positive side of the aging process is that long term memory is stable and maybe improves, and experience and wisdom matures from lessons well learned, sometimes the hard way.

"Dear John Doe" military condolenses

In a recent unprecedented snafu the U.S. Army sent letters to families of soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, with the salutation "Dear John Doe".

The letters have been sent since since 2001 containing information about  services or gifts for which the families may be eligible. The number of letters is reported at 7,000 to families of most of the 3,500 soldiers who lost their lives for their country.
