Haute Taco, I loved you well
Somewhere to the top right of this page is the news that Jake is putting burgers in place of his easy Mexican restaurant.
I am both sad and delighted. You see, the Haute Taco I loved so well had really taken a tumble the last few times I'd gone.
Please understand, the first year the restaurant was opened it rocked my world. The spouse and I have even walked over before so we could stumble home after a pitcher of Cheap Ass margaritas. Nachos, soup, and those amazing beer-braised short rib tacos kept us going back more than once a month.
And then one day those fat tasty flour tortillas were replaced with something cheaper. And then the next time the restaurant was swarming with flies. And then the tables were sticky.
And then we quit going.
I'm not sure I want to know exactly what happened, but I hope someone knows, pays careful attention, and doesn't let it happen again.
Perhaps I can suggest a beer-braised sandwich on the new menu. :)
