VALPO BEATS UWM
Yesterday, Saturday, my Son invited me to go and see the Valparaiso-UWM basketball. Both teams play in the Horizan League which includes Butler, a highly rated team.
Being an alumni of both (Marquette Freshman basketball/ Valpariaiso/basketball and baseball (scholarship), i was a little torn between the teams.
The game was very well played and hard fought. Valpo looked better than last year and UWM seemed to struggle at times. Both teams are well coached and have future talent.
UWM led all the way but a last quarter burst by Valpo gave them the win.
Both teams have been winners in Division 1 basketball.
Our other state teams, Marquette and Wisconsin, posted impressive victories recently and may put to rest my earlier predictions. The Bucks, without Andrew Bogut, find a way to win regardless.
The Super Bowl is next week and it will be hard to watch minus the Packers.
The Brewers are gearing up for another pennant race with a complete pitching staff and an improved defensive infield.
