The decision may or may not be legal precedent in Wisconsin and i am not going to research it any further. my concern as a blogger is enough. but it is a federal court decision.
a federal judge in Oregon ruled that a Montana woman sued for defamation of character was not a journalist when she posted online that an Oregon Lawyer acted criminally during a bankruptcy case.
the story says that she called the lawyer a thug and a thief.(she produced 400 blogs)
apparently current state shield laws for journalists do not cover bloggers in online media.

the lawyer sued the blogger for defamation and the ruling opened the way to award millions (2.5) to the lawyer, a trustee in a bankruptcy case.
