Yes, the old saying is no news is good news. sometimes that is correct. This holliday weekend is usually a no news weekend. Family gatherings, military parades and just a time to rest and enjoy.
By all means take advantage of this time off and do what comes naturally.
After the weekend the no news time will go away and the press will be back to work keeping us up to date with the breaking news, the weather, the weather and sports.
Locally, the city mayor and alderman have a Tuesday meeting to decide on the new City Clerk and the replacement 7th District Alderperson. The nation will see/hear the President address the important issues of the day. The Packers will open the season against New Orleans in a game that could set records for filling the air with passes. The Brewers will continue their quest to make the play-offs and get another chance to challenge their closest contender. The Badgers will keep winning against amateur opponents and high school players will display talent to their parents.
Golfers will play on half empty courses in the pleasant fall weather.
There will be the traditional Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years celebrations.
Then comes the colder weather as the snowbirds head south.
Just think, all of this and more.
